Scouts build confidence and skills through outdoor adventures including camping, bike trips, hiking, archery, and canoeing. In small groups, Scouts learn leadership and teamwork skills, and how to take more responsibility for themselves. The Scout Motto is "Be Prepared".

Scouts develop self-confidence by learning skills and putting them into practise. In Patrols of six to eight, Scouts elect a Patrol Leader and work together as a team. At camp, Scouts setup their campsites, learn to cook their food, and organize activities, all under the supervision of the adult leadership. At the Scout troop's weekly meetings, Scouts play games and learn skills to prepare for the weekend outings. Everyone gets leadership opportunities.

Here are things the Scouts have done recently:

Our program includes six weekend camps, other weekend activities, and summer camp. The Scout Troop is lead by parents and other volunteers from the community. All volunteers complete a screening process.

Iceland 2012

Flag of Iceland

In July 2012, our troop will attend the National Scout Jamboree in Iceland. Thousands of Scouts from around the world will gather to create international friendship. We will be part of the week-long jamboree and spend a second week exploring Iceland, hiking in the unique landscape, warming up in hot springs, going whale watching, and experiencing the long history of this country, from the Vikings to the geothermal-powered economy of the 21st Century.
