Waterloo Chronicle, April 6, 2005
The Waterloo Chronicle Team of the Week is the 21st Waterloo Scout Troop. The Troop recently attended the competitive Owen Sound Winter Camporee along with 500 Scouts from Ontario and the United States. The Scouts demonstrated exceptional teamwork at the knot-tying event, winning the trophy for the second year running. Judges were impressed by the large A-frame shelter which the Scouts had lashed together from cedar poles, winning the troop the trophy for Best Campsite. The troop also placed second in the Rescue Mission, a test of first aid and other scouting skills. Pictured at their campsite with their sled and trophies are (back row, from left): Jay Treacy (scoutmaster), Richard Henkel, Jamie Hobson, Bryan Reynolds, Liam Morland (scoutmaster); (front row) Kevin McGaire, Matthew Lam, Chad Grant, Heather McGaire and Ian Brown.
